In microfocus tubes, the focal spot diameter is approximately 100 times smaller than in standard focus X-ray tubes, allowing for high imaging sharpness even at high magnifications. Due to this exceptionally small focal spot, individual weld seams, for example, can be inspected as if using an X-ray magnifying glass, enabling the detection of the finest component defects.
